Over 10 events have been launched in Beijing's Mentougou district since August to highlight the cultural charm of the west of the capital city.

These events range from sightseeing, traditional Chinese costume park tours and indescribable culture heritage experiences in scenic spots.

They were organized by the Mentougou authorities to tap into the development potential along the Xishan Mountains and Yongding River culture belt.

Tourists can enjoy local ecology, folk culture and tourism resources during the carnival that will run until October.

At the same time, four red tourism routes and four mountain adventures have been developed to spice up tourist experiences.

Other programs, including international mountain hiking, a photography competition and a fair, will be staged in the future, according to the authorities.
